      Greening School Food:A Northwest Forum on Healthy, Climate-Friendly Food Service   Presented by:              Event Description: On September 25th, Washington Green Schools, Oregon Green Schools and Friends of the Earth will bring together K-12 sustainability coordinators and school food service directors for a focused conversation on how to improve school menus for accelerated health outcomes while also reducing the climate impacts associated with school food service. It is now clear that menus that have a central focus on healthy foods also tend to have a lower environmental impact. The unique gathering will provide a forum for key stakeholders to share existing best practices, explore strategies for overcoming obstacles and learn from innovative national organizations and regional nutrition services leaders.  KEYNOTE LUNCHEON SPEAKER:Suzy Amis Cameron: Founder MUSE K-12 School, Actress, Author and Environmental Advocate CONFIRMED SPEAKERS:Kari Hamerschlag, Deputy Director, Friends of the Earth Food and Technology ProgramColleen McKinney, Associate Director, The Center for Good Food PurchasingAmy Webster, Food & Nutrition Coordinator, Forward FoodJackie Wilson, Sustainability Coordinator, Bend / La Pine School District & Oregon Green Schools Board ChairMeredith Lohr, Executive Director, Washington Green SchoolsJennifer Le Barre, Executive Director, Oakland Unified School District Nutrition ServicesMore speakers to be announced soon!
